Charles Kelley practices predominantly in the areas of bankruptcy and insolvency law. He represents debtors and creditors in all chapter of bankruptcy (7, 11, 12, and 13), focusing on primarily consumer and small business cases, as well as assisting parties work out solutions outside of the bankruptcy process. A lifelong resident of Gainesville, he began practicing law in 1993 with the firm of Whelchel & Dunlap. He left there in 1999 to start the firm of Maddox, Cummings & Kelley, and now Kelley & Clements. He is admitted to practice in all the courts of the state of Georgia as well as the U.S. District Courts for the Northern and Middle Districts of Georgia. Charles is a member of the State Bar of Georgia, the Northeastern Judicial Circuit Bar Association (Treasurer 1995-1997), the American Bankruptcy Institute, and the National Association of Consumer Bankruptcy Attorneys.
